What I love most about Xela is that you can buy earrings individually rather than in pairs which means I can buy a pair and a spare or if I bought a pair and lost one, I know I can get a replacement rather than have to go and buy another set.
Emunah's review mentions that the store is run by a sometimes-friendly Italian woman and her brother. I distinctly remember some years ago when that woman was just a few days in the country, very sweet, easy-going, open. I moved to the East Bay shortly after that and a couple of years later found myself wandering through Noe Valley. Stopped in at Xela and there she was, behind the counter, but this time it seemed, cynical with lots of side-eye action. I felt a little sad, but figured she'd probably had a few run-ins with the not so nice slice of life in America....

~Xela~ (pronounced Shay-la) is my favorite shop in all of Noe Valley!!
They have lots of great jewelry, awesome clothes, great wooden figures. I love coming in and shopping for gifts for friends- but really, I like to shop for myself.
Highly recommend. And the staff is awesome! Always helpful and very sweet!
I love this place for earring shopping. They have beautiful jewelery (lot's of silver) from India and Thailand and Bali (among many others) and always interesting and unique designs. Each visit I'm tempted by a pair or two. And the prices aren't too painfully high--though certainly not street-side prices! Expect to pay $30 to $60 for a nice pair. Run by a sometimes-friendly Italian woman and her brother.

Love the selection of jewelery. Honestly, when it comes to women's taste in fashion these days, some people put so much effort into being completely unoriginal (put that in your pipe and smoke it, Tiffany's). The owners are helpful and completely unpretentious.

Great little shop on 24th with all of the other snobby boutiques but this one carries no 'tude and and endless array of cool things to browse. Gorgeous jewelry, along with lots of neat things you didn't know you needed. Prices are pretty fair. Probably the only shop I would trek over to Noe to visit.

Around the world in 80 seconds. Xela has jewelry, artwork, clothing et al. from all over the globe at fairly reasonable prices. True, you can find everything here for a lot less if you visit the actual countries, but tack on the plane ticket, hotel stay and anti-dysentery meds and you've found yourself a steal at Xela.

This place is right up my alley. I love almost everything in here. Even the music! (which you can also purchase at about $16 per CD, but I didn't since I already have it in MP3s).
They carry a lot of jewelry from Peru, which is priced cheap by our standards ($9 for a pair of earrings), but I can get the same pair in Peru for $1.00, so I'll stock up again when I go back to Peru at the end of the year :)
They have pretty stuff in here, check it out.

This place is the reason my earring collection is becoming too big for me to handle.
Minus one star because certain imported items are difficult for me to stomach when seen with a price tag attached. IE: Dream catchers... I have a few Native hang ups what can I say.

I LOVE THIS STORE! Despite of the bad logo and all, I love what's actually sold inside. From jewelries, to scarves, bags, and other ethnic-related accessories. I am in love with all the pendants and rings made out of precious gems and stones. It's very unique and ethnic, which drives me to enter the store everytime and I happen to buy one or two items everytime I visit. Earrings, headbands, dingdingding!

Okay, seriously, this place is a money sink-hole. So many wonderful items to add color, flair, and class to your wardrobe. I think I left some smudge marks on the class cases while oggling Italian gold and the gorgeous red coral that my more environmentally conscious self cannot purchase. Lovely way to spend time in the Valley of Noe.

One of the best stores on 24th Street. Beautiful imported jewelry from all over the world and it's actually affordable....not cheap...but affordable. In addition to the jewelry, they've got scarves, hats, bags, candles, incense, jewelry boxes, and tons of other fantastic stuff.
The salespeople here are super cool and exercise an amazing amount of patience when I can't make up my mind and have to try on 5 rings, 4 necklaces, and 6 pairs of earrings. Be warned, do not enter in the winter when you are dressed in many layers without removing some clothing. The place is pretty tiny and quite popular. When the OCD starts to kick in, you will be sweating up a storm.
I love it here.

Great, funky, ethnic jewellery and the owners are really helpful too! They also have interesting scarves, jewellery boxes and home decor pieces (Tibetan and Indian statues for the most part).
