So I decided to order pizza from here for dinner tonight since hubby kept raving about it. Well i ordered a medium half Hawaiian half margarita.
delivery was pretty fast but i was so disappointed when i took my first bit it was cold and burned! I couldn't believe that they would send me something that burned it tasted like cardboard with tomatoes sauce.
I'm convinced that it was just a bad night for them I will probably give them a second chance, and i hope its much better!

Me and my friends were looking for a place to grab dinner and we decided to try out Serrano's Pizza.  At first, I was hestitant based on the appearance..lol.  The place is super small with only 1 table and booth seating.  You can order a slice of pizza or a whole pie.

I decided to order a slice of sausage and mushroom pizza.  The server told me it will take 15 minutes.  I realized all the slices are made after they are ordered, which means they are really fresh!

When the slice came out, it was super huge.  There was a lot of crust on all 3 sides!  I love crust, so I was really happy about that.  The pizza was not greasy, and it only cost $4!

Minus one star for not having a lot of tables for people to enjoy their pizza.

what more to want in a slice. not just reheated but baked to order, big portion, generous toppings, quality toppings for the $. i've heard the pizza pies are less exciting than the slices, but for a run around the block it can't be beat.

Serrano's Pizza is not THE best in town, but it's very good. Great prices. Good portions.

Order your pizza and seat outside to people watch: A) on a nice/warm Mission night (not a year round event). B) You are hammered. C) Shared a brownie with some random Irish guy at the Phone Booth and you are super stoned (what? it happens to all of us! right?).

If I order pizza, I order it from Serrano's.  Why?

1. Very decent pizza.  Quality toppings, decent crust, good selection of toppings.

2. Very prompt.  They may not get there in 30 minutes, but they WILL get there when they SAY they will get there.  Consistency and predictability: these are a few of my favorite things!

3. Reasonable price.

Listen, even -I- can't eat steak EVERY night.  Try though I might.  And I do try.  But when it's pizza time, this is my pizza place.

Enh.  The best thing about this place is the ginormous selection of pizza toppings (maybe 20 pies to choose from), plus pasta, plus calzones.  The pizza itself is not that special- very salty; crispy crust; unstringy cheese- but it doesn't give you indigestion and you do get a ridiculously huge slice for your $5.  Don't bet on seating; order to go, but if the gods are smiling upon you, you might snag one of the two outdoor tables, in which case you should sit back and let the mission entertain you.

I'm not a pizza snob, but I know what I like. I'm a local, so the proximity is ideal and the price is right. Whenever honey and I don't feel like cooking or we are looking for a carb delight after a couple drinks on a Friday night, Serrano's is a lifesaver.

Good pizza. Ginormous slice for 2.70. What's not to like? Oh yeah, the sauce is a little salty and too oregano-eee but like I said, it's 2.70 for a huuuge slice. What's not to like?

I've gotten pizza here twice.  Once we got the "thick crust" which was actually just think around the edges and not all over.  The second time were got the standard thin crust.  I wasn't really impressed either time.  It isn't bad but it certainly isn't the best I've had.

WOW!  Cheap and good.  I needed a pizza fast and cheap, got the Dolores Pizza, and it was great!!  If your not a fan of garlic tell them to hold off, but I love it and it really made it special.  It was one of the best pizzas I have had under $20.  I'm going back for sure.

Serrano's is my favorite pizza--- hands down.  Especially the art and tom terrific.  What I love most is the sauce.  Wish they had more Serrano's around.  The Greek Salad is also excellent.  And you get to watch them toss the pizza dough that just doesn't happen often enough.

I really like this place, but I never ate their pizza. I cannot get enough of their calzones. They're not only huge, they boast a brood of mozzarella and ricotta cheeses with whatever ingredients your heart desires. I personally like pineapple 'n' onion. It'll set  you back about $5.

3.5 Stars.  Here's why:

-It's close by, so there's the convenience factor.  Also, they deliver!
-Prices are good, especially considering the fact that you get coupons every time you get a new take out menu.
-Lots of toppings!  Oh how I love those toppings!  (Mmm the Portuguese!)
-Large slices.
-90% of the time when I call, it's hard to hear because it's busy or they ask me to hold and then hang up on me.
-The meat can be on the greasy side.  (Yikes!  The Portuguese!)
-The sauce can be heavy.
-The restaurant itself isn't very big and not very inviting, hence us getting it delivered most of the time.

I recommend this place if you're looking for good, greasy, late night pizza in the Mission.

I went in this weekend for a slice. at Serrano's they don't dress up a slice from a pre made pizza to your specifications they make you an individual slice from scratch. They take a piece of dough and smoosh it into a triangle and make you an individual small triangle pizza. You might think that sounds good but YOU"D BE WRONG!!! Serrano's whole pizzas can't be beaten but those individual slices don't bake right. They push the dough too thin and try to compensate by over cooking it so that your slice won't collapse before you get it too your mouth. The crust comes out hard and gritty. Also instead of cheese covering the slice they put it in little globs, I assume to keep it from running off the pizza during baking since there is no real crust. The slices are thoroughly unpleasant.

Take my advice, order a whole Pizza and avoid the slices.

I love this place and have been going there a couple of times a month for lunch since i started working in the neighborhood. The pizza is tasty, good amount of toppings, sauce is flavorful, crust is perfect...Their lunch special is a great deal--a big honkin's slice, salad, and drink for around $6. You can't beat it...

They had me at calzone

I discovered Serrano's on delivery.com - you know, the 'too lazy to even pick up the phone and tear myself away from facebook' online ordering site. I decided to try something new and sorted the list of restaurants by review. At the top of the list: Serrano's - and now I know why.

For $7 I got the best calzone I can remember enjoying in a long time. Nothing like the over sauced, ozzing with mozzarella, low on the still in their original shape vegetables. No, my Serrano's calzone was composed of large slices of roasted red peppers, ricotta and mozzarella for texture and depth, a nice helping of sauce, and topped with full leaves of tangy basil all in a soft, but not doughy crust. And these things are not small folks! There's enough for your $7 to cover you for lunch the next day (okay midnight guitar hero snack break).

I've since sampled their pizzas and they continue to deliver the best pizzeria Italian I've had yet in San Francisco! Their menu is full of great delicious combinations or you can create your own. Either way you will not be disappointed.

So since I ordered pizza so early (before midnight!) the other night at work, I had many many many more options than I normally do.  So for the first time in my life I allowed a place's average Yelp rating to make my decision for me, and I got Serrano's.

I was initially a little wary about this place.  I don't know why.  Actually, it was because I couldn't order online and because the website was so preschooly.

But when the pizza came, it was delicious.  The ingredients were fresh; there was just the right amount of cheese, and the crust was perfect.  I know the next pizza I get from this place won't be as good, but that's OK.  As long as it's anywhere near what this pizza was, I'll be OK with it.  Oh, and it tasted even better cold, which is the true test of any pizza.

This place is amazing. They get your order right everytime; they have a huge variety of fresh ingredients; their slices are made to order, fresh; if you order a slice you actually get two big ass slices; tried their lasagna and was not disappointed; open late. I have nothing bad to say about this fine establishment. Show love, receive love.

Seriously, a slice of pizza here is A SLICE. They make it to order and top it with whatever u like. The slices are like half a medium pizza, totally huge and at a great price which makes it that much better. I'm a big fan of thin crust, so it just hit the spot for me!

For a late night bite or BIG snack check'em out and you will not be let down!

What the heck? After reading these reviews I went and ordered a pizza from Serrano's--and was very dissapointed.  Certainly it came quickly and they loaded on the toppings.  But the only verb I could come up with to describe it was dry.

I'll admit it: I'm from New Jersey. South Jersey, a desolate place made  all the more desolate by a confusion pine trees, strip malls (& clubs) & innumerable fast food "restaurants".

Being from such a God forsaken region, I am unaccustomed to the fine & affected culinary tastes of a city like San Francisco. I am not yet sufficiently acculturated to pass judgments on sushi or even, for the love of God, Thai food.

But, what I lack in adjectives to describe the exotic food found in San Francisco, I can make up for in expertise regarding the one food "group" that any self-respecting New Jerseyian (I know, that seems like an oxymoron... and, well, it probably is, but you're not allowed to say that unless you're from NJ, dammit) knows: Pizza.

Take it from a recovering New Jerseyian: Serrano's is the best pizza in the City, at least as far as slices go. It isn't as bougie as Little Star or Pauline's, but the employees are just friendly enough, there's often just barely enough room to stand inside the tiny parlor, and the slices are enormous and made to order. What else could you ask for from a pizza place?

For my money, some of the best pizza you can get on the quick in the Mission. Good prices for the size of the slice, which is basically two pieces.
I don't like eating here, because the interior has some strange mirrors that make you stare at the other customers and stare at yourself while eating.
Also, the wait usually is a bit longer than they say it will be.

3 Reasons why Serrano's rocks:
1.) On time delivery
2.) Pretty cheap
3.) Damn good pie

I had the San Franciscan and it was great.  Good quality cheese and ingredients lead to a satisfying pizza.

For the younger crowd and for those that like bay area rap, I dont think it would hurt to mention that San Quinn eats here.

My mother is a pizza gourmet. Seriously - PhD level. I have been eating good pizza my entire life. I am a pizza crust snob.

Serrano's has the best pizza crust in the city. The sauce gets 4 stars (a bit acidic) and the cheese 3.5 stars. The pineapple 3 stars. I've thought about buying my own from the whole foods next door and asking them to put it on for me. The pizza crust is what makes this pizza amazing and earns it 5 stars.

But wait! It's only $3.20 for a slice with one topping? That's like 2 Euro! The slices are often big, with a beautiful raised crust, fresh out of the oven, and the toppings are generously applied.

I love this place and frequently walk a half hour round trip for a slice. I call ahead and it's ready when I arrive. I have their number saved in my phone.

Oh Serranos...  I was SO sad when you caught fire.

Thank god you're back, and able to satisfy my evening cheesy cravings, as I satisfy the other cheesy cravings elsewhere.  I frequent here on Tuesday nights, right inbetween the Red Light Open Mic, and Rock Out Karaoke at Amnesia.  I've never had a bad slice, and never had bad service (although they can be slow at times, whaddya want?  I mean, c'mon, the slices are made-to-order!).

If you are in the area, GO HERE!  Seriously.  It is SO worth it.  You'll be glad you did.

5 stars from the girl who hates pizza, wtf?  you heard it.  I blame Greg #1 (of 3) who only ate pizza, hamburgers and occasionally Taco Bell for the two years I was with him. Needless to say for 10 yrs I avoided all three food groups.

Serrano's pizza changed my mind.  they have THIN CRUST and if you ask for 'less cheese' it's even that much more perfect.  Yeah, did I mention I hate cheese?

This joint is a hole in the wall but you got to ask for the Thin Crust because the delivery one we ordered was regular.

hmmm meat lovers pizza with mushroom is the best.

Here you will find the only edible pizza outside the Eastern Time Zone, with plentiful toppings and spicy fresh sauce that they will add on extra for you no-cheesers for no charge.

Seriously, they have the best sauce in the Bay Area. And I don't want to hear about Zachary's, it's ridiculous. Chicago-style pizza is ridiculous. Thank goodness Serrano's knows what to do with a crust (which is not "make a pizza sandwich out of it").

Who wants to wait 10 min for a slice of pizza?  I guess that's tolerable considering the slices are made to order.  They stretch you dough, top it and bake it to order, pretty impressive, Seranno's gets points for that.

I can't say I was crazy for my Margherita slice today.  A bit too cheesy for me, but the crust was alright. You gotta not mind a lot of crust either, since they give you a slice with two sides of crust (I guess they cut off the other side?).  They were pretty generous with the basil, which was good, the sauce was good, but the tomato was not that ripe.  All in all, a slice for $3.80 filled me up and left me not in love, but satisfied.

I've only eaten "slices" when I eat here. The first time I did, I took longer than usual and the slice was not very uniform in appearance...
then I realize that the "slices" are actually all hand tossed mini pies.

This one of my favorite pizza places in the city.

The only thing to mind is the limited seating.
They do have outdoor seating too.

As Snickers would suggest "satisfy your hunger"... I should have had a Snickers  After the hour and a half wait, the Pizza finally showed up... yay(?).  We opened up the side of wings, the smell was not what I expected, and the Pizza... The "Chicago style Deep Dish" looked more like a cartoon Ninja Turtles Pizza, that Pizza always looked good, right?  I'm pretty sure that if the Pizza the Turtles ate tasted like this, they would have switched to Sushi.

Don't waste your money here, you will regret it.

I'm starting to see a pattern with the things  I review. And pizza is a main theme. Is that bad. Am I a bad person for getting graphic pleasure from this simple dish?? I have been told that pizza is like music even when its bad its still good. Im not sure if I agree onehundo on that but I like the optimism. This place is so hot it burned down. When they bring this place back from the ashes I will be there with open arms . I miss you until we meet again.
